Analyzing Personality Traits and Job Stress Relationships with Mental Health of Mazandaran based Medical Science University Financial Managers

Background and Objective: psychologists assume that special personality traits can make difference in controlling stressful workplaces .Of the factors influencing mental health, we can mention job stress and personality traits of the work force. This research aims to analyze the relationship between personality traits and job stress with mental health of Mazandaran based Medical Science University affiliated financial managers.
Material and Methods: the research method is descriptive of correlative type and the statistical community consists of all financial managers of Mazandaran based Medical Science University as 150 subjects and out of this number, 108 have been considered as sample size using convenient sampling method.
To collect data, NEO 5-Factor Questionnaire, Goldenberg Public Health Questionnaire-28 (GHQ-28) and Osipow Job stress have been applied, having the appropriate reliability and validity .Also, to define the association between personality traits and mental health, linear regression and to set the relationship between job stress and metal health, Pearson correlation has been used.
Findings: the data analysis revealed that a meaningful relationship exists between personality traits (neuroticism and openness) and mental health at error level 1%. Besides, there is a significant relationship between job stress and mental health of Medical Science University financial managers.
Inference: the study findings indicated that there is a meaningful relationship between personality traits (neuroticism and openness) and job stress reduces Medical Science University financial managers’ mental health. |
