Investigating the Relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Corona Pandemic Crisis Management in Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences

Summary Background and purpose: The main purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and corona pandemic crisis management in Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences in 1400 and its partial purpose was to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence components and coronary pandemic crisis management.
Materials and Methods: Descriptive-correlational research method. The statistical population includes all managers of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, 105 people, based on Krejcie and Morgan table, 82 people were selected as a simple random sample. Data were collected through two standard questionnaires of Bar-On emotional intelligence and a researcher-made questionnaire on crisis management (based on a five-point Likert scale) with reliability coefficients of 0.96 and 0.90. The validity of the questionnaire was studied using Cronbach's alpha method using the opinion of technical experts and the reliability of the questionnaires. Data were analyzed using Student's t-test, analysis of variance and Pearson correlation coefficient at a significance level of 5%.
Results: The findings showed that among the dimensions of emotional intelligence, the average interpersonal skill was higher than the other dimensions. There is also a positive and significant relationship between the three dimensions of interpersonal skills, adaptation and general mood with crisis management. In addition, there is a significant positive relationship between the overall score of emotional intelligence and crisis management.
Conclusion: The serious task of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences is to maintain and improve the health of the community and the need to address the above issue goes back to the importance of the role of crisis management in order to achieve the goals of the health system. On the other hand, emotional intelligence and its capabilities are among the categories that are considered in management issues and crisis management is an essential part of strategic management that is essential to ensure the stability, success and achievement of the organization's goals.
